Hot summer weather and sun mean it’s time to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. At Lester Glenn Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM FIAT, we want to help you make the most of your summer. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some fantastic outdoor destinations for you and your family to enjoy. Plus, they’re all less than 15 minutes away from us at Lester Glenn in Tom’s River, but not too far from Brick and Freehold. So toss your bikes and fishing poles in the back of your RAM truck or stash your hiking gear in your Jeep Grand Cherokee and hit the road! But don’t forget to stop by our Mopar car service center to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape.
Double Trouble State Park: This destination is about six miles away from us (11-14 minutes driving). Spanning 8,495 acres, this park has plenty to offer. Activities include exploring the Double Trouble Historical Village, canoeing or kayaking in Cedar Creek, hiking, horseback riding, biking on the extensive trails, fishing, and hunting. All that for no entrance fee!
Cattus Island County Park: About five miles away (12 minute drive) is this 530-acre park. This destination is perfect for nature lovers and children, making it a suitable location for a fun Saturday out with the family. Cattus Island is home to seven miles of trails, the Cooper Environmental Center, a butterfly garden, and scenic boardwalks. This place is ideal for bird watching, photography, picnicking, and more! Be sure to take advantage of the free loaner bikes and free weekend nature walks at 2 p.m.
Jakes Branch County Park: This destination is practically right in our backyard! This 400 -acre park is only 3.8 miles away (8-10 minutes driving). The park offers free admission and a variety of recreational activities. There are soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a multi-use field, a Tot Lot (2-5 yrs) and playground (5-12 yrs), hiking trails, picnic area with charcoal grills, and a Nature Center with five-story observation deck to take in the beautiful view.
