You wanted it. We wanted it. It’s finally here, and it’s everything we hoped for. We’re talking about the 2020 Jeep® Gladiator. It’s been more than 25 years since we’ve had a Jeep pickup model available to us, and the Jeep Gladiator is finally the answer.
The new Jeep model debuted last week at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. However, when we say debuted, we mean stole the show. Here at Lester Glenn Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, we know SUVs and trucks. We know what works in the Toms River and Brick, NJ areas. That’s why we’re excited about the Jeep Gladiator.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler remains one of the most customized vehicles, and that idea instantly spread to what we saw from the Jeep Gladiator at the Auto Show, where the automaker showed off a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, as well as a variant outfitted with plenty of Mopar® accessories.
If you haven’t gathered by now, the Jeep Gladiator looks a lot like a Jeep Wrangler, only in pickup truck form. When it launches the Jeep pickup will feature a 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine which puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. Like its Jeep Wrangler cousin, it comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive across all trim levels; an eight-speed automatic is optional.
If you want more torque, you’ll have to hold out a little longer for the 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine which produces 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque. As this is a pickup, you’re probably wondering how it stacks up. The Jeep Gladiator features a five-foot steel bed with integrated tie downs, under-rail bed lighting, and more. It’s not the largest, but it should get the job done.
