FCA US LLC is going through some significant changes, but that’s a good thing for fans of the models they make. Earlier in the year, the company unveiled its latest five-year product plan, which included plenty of news on updates to existing models and the introduction of several new ones.
Fans of both RAM trucks and Jeep® SUVs in the Toms River, NJ area will love what’s in store for their favorite vehicles over the next few years.
The Jeep family of automobiles received much attention when the plan was revealed, and new models are already in motion. It was announced recently that a Jeep Renegade PHEV model is set for a 2020 release alongside a PHEV Jeep Wrangler. While these two models are so far first on the schedule, the company plans to release eight hybrid Jeep models by 2022.
In addition to new hybrid models, the automaker plans to add another sub-brand model to accompany the immensely popular Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and Trackhawk models. The new model is dubbed the Deserthawk and is built to travel over sand at high speeds.
To further bolster the name of the RAM 1500, the automaker is adding the powerful RAM 1500 Rebel TRX. The model debuted at the Texas State Fair a few years ago, but at the time was only a prototype. Now, it seems that the 520-horsepower pickup truck is happening. Additionally, an all-new RAM 1500 Heavy Duty truck is on the way and scheduled for a January 2019 launch.
